Vietnamese fried tofu with scallion oil- “Dau ran tam hanh” recipe.

Vietnamese fried tofu with scallion oil aka dau ran tam hanh. It’s such a simple dish but it’s so yummy and comforting and it’s a dish that comes together in less than 15 minutes and just a few ingredients (4 to be exact).

1 block tofu (medium-firm to firm)
2 tablespoons fish sauce
1/4 tablespoons thinly-sliced scallions, green parts (3-4 stalks)
Some cooking oil for frying
Black pepper

1. Fry tofu in a pan until golden and set aside
2. Heat up a few tbs of light olive oil and then add and fry green onions until fragrant and cooked then remove heat
3. Add crushed black pepper into scallion oil
4. Drizzle black pepper/scallion oil over tofu

Dipping sauce:
2 tbs fish sauce and add black pepper

Serve with a side of peeping hot jasmine rice!
